Lech Poznan Announces Match Plan Against Piast Gliwice
The Ekstraklasa schedule has been altered for the third round. Several matches have either been canceled or rescheduled to allow participants in European cup qualifiers sufficient time to prepare.
Scheduling Decisions
Three matches in the third round of Ekstraklasa were not played on their originally scheduled dates. Raków Częstochowa faced Zagłębie Lubin, and GKS Katowice played against Wieczysta Kraków, both at the request of the hosts. It is unclear if Jagiellonia Białystok will face Widzew Łódź this Sunday.
Górnik Zabrze took advantage of its right to reschedule a match for Saturday, where it will play Radomiak Radom. Lech Poznan, however, has announced that it will not take advantage of its own scheduling privilege and will play against Piast Gliwice on Sunday.
Impact on the Schedule
These changes have affected the league schedule. Matches originally scheduled for other days are now being rescheduled to ensure participants in European cup qualifiers have sufficient preparation time.
As a result, Lech Poznan and Piast Gliwice will play their match on Sunday. Other schedule changes will remain pending until they are officially announced by the Ekstraklasa League Committee.
