Lech Poznań drew 2-2 with Energie Cottbus in their final friendly before the Ekstraklasa resumes. The hosts fell behind after just 50 seconds due to a mistake by Terry Yegbe, but managed to fight back.

Yannick Agnero equalised in the 10th minute from a Filip Jagiełło assist. Lech Poznań took the lead in the 65th minute when Leo Bengtsson scored, again set up by Jagiełło. Manager Mateusz Pruchniewski started in goal, with Mateusz Lis reserved for league duty. The defence featured Robert Gumny and Mateusz Skrzypczak.

Lech Poznań go into the next league round sitting third in the table with 19 points from eight games. The team's recent form has been mixed. On Sunday, 20 September, the Polish champions beat Radomiak Radom 5-1 in the league. Before the Cottbus friendly, they lost to Crystal Palace and Górnik Zabrze.

Antoni Kozubal, Gustav Berggren, João Moutinho and Allahyara Sayyadmanesh were unavailable for the Energie Cottbus match due to health reasons. The manager gave minutes to young players Eryk Śledziński, Antoni Klecha, Patryk Kowalski and Maksymilian Dziuba. Kamil Jakóbczyk came on for Mikael Ishak at half-time.

Lech Poznań now face Śląsk Wrocław in the 9th round of the Ekstraklasa on Saturday, 10 October.
