Lech Poznan are beginning a three-week international break following their 5-1 victory over Radomiak Radom on Sunday. Coach Niels Frederiksen has outlined the team's plans for the period, focusing on recovery before the league campaign resumes.

The team sits 3rd in the Ekstraklasa with 19 points from 8 games. After a run of 16 matches across all competitions, Frederiksen stressed the need for a break. “I think the holiday is essential because we had a very tight schedule with a lot of matches,” said Frederiksen. “It is important for my players to rest and also to regenerate their bodies and minds.”

Eight players are away with their national teams and will be unavailable for three weeks. The rest of the squad will have a week off initially. A training camp and a friendly match are scheduled for the second week, with the opponent to be confirmed. The third week will be dedicated to preparations for the away league fixture against Slask Wroclaw, set for October 10th. Slask currently occupy 15th place in the table.

Lech are dealing with injury issues. Antoni Kozubal is injured and will miss 4-6 weeks, sidelining him for three league matches. Gustava Berggren has a minor muscle injury, while Alex Douglass is recovering from surgery in Finland. Both are expected to be available after the break.

Frederiksen noted that a similar rest strategy worked well last season. “These gained experiences showed that the players returned after those few days with new energy and even more charged up and eager for training and games,” the coach added. Details of upcoming matches, including the friendly, can be found on the fixtures page. The full squad status is available in the squad section.
