Lech Poznań have learned the date of their first Polish Cup match this season. The club will face Siarka Tarnobrzeg in the round of 16 on Wednesday, 28 October, with kick-off scheduled for 12:30.

The match will be played away in Tarnobrzeg. The Polish Football Association published the schedule for the entire round, with fixtures set between 27 and 29 October. Nine of the ties will be broadcast by Telewizja Polska.

Siarka Tarnobrzeg reached this stage by eliminating Zagłębie Lubin. For Lech, it forms part of a demanding period. Three days earlier, on 25 October, the team will play a league match away to Legia Warsaw. Then, three days after the cup tie, on 31 October, they will host Wisła Kraków at home. Prior to that, on 22 October, Lech have an away Europa League fixture against Sunderland.

Manager Niels Frederiksen acknowledged the schedule may force rotation. “It is very possible that in the clash with Siarka, manager Niels Frederiksen will field a heavily rotated eleven and give a chance to reserve players,” the coach said.

Lech Poznań enter this period in good league form. The team currently sits 3rd in the Ekstraklasa with 19 points from eight matches. Their last result was a convincing 5-1 win over Radomiak Radom. The next league fixture awaits the team on 10 October away to Slask Wroclaw, who are in 15th place. The squad list status and detailed statistics can be checked on the squad and stats pages.
